Basketball Recap: ARC Academy Drops Season-High Score on Cornerstone Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask ARC Academy). They put the hurt on the Cornerstone Christian Academy Eagles with a sharp 50-26 victory on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Despite the loss, Cornerstone Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kynnedy Newton posted no points along with 12 boards and three steals. Newton is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last six games she's played.

ARC Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

ARC Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 40-19 defeat against Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool on the 25th. Cornerstone Christian Academy has also already played their next contest, a 37-11 loss against ARC Academy on the 28th.
