Hurricane has gone 8-2 against Riverside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hurricane Redskins will face off against the Riverside Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hurricane is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: South Charleston, who was ranked 12th at the time (Hurricane was ranked 24th). Hurricane took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Charleston. It was the first time this season that the Redskins let down their fans at home.

Meanwhile, Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 70-55 bruising from Parkersburg.

Hurricane will need focus on slowing down Bryer Mullins, one of several Riverside players who made an impact when they last played. He went 7 of 15 en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Coles, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 11 points along with five assists and four steals.

Hurricane's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Everything came up roses for Hurricane against Riverside when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured an 83-48 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hurricane since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
