Soccer Recap: Rancho Cotate Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rancho Cotate can now relate to. They fell just short of the University Red Devils by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 464th, while the Red Devils are ranked 181st).

Rancho Cotate is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7. As for University, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.

Rancho Cotate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for University, they will square off against Cardinal Newman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cardinal Newman will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something University surely won't give up without a fight.
