Baseball Game Preview: United South Central Rebels vs. Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Bulldogs

United South Central and Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Rebels will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. United South Central is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

On Saturday, United South Central didn't have quite enough to beat St. James and fell 8-7.

Kolt Bullerman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of United South Central's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Atchley, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton). They blew past St. Clair 13-2 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Cyclones: they've now won five in a row.

Caleb Quast was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Parker Geariety, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for United South Central, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
