Volleyball Recap: Big Walnut Takes a Loss

Big Walnut lost against Westerville North on April 10th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles came up short against the Warriors, falling 3-0. The Golden Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

While Big Walnut was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-22, 25-20.

Nathaniel Weaver paced Big Walnut's offense, picking up six kills. Weaver got some help from Bryce Lawhun and his ten assists. Lawhun was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Big Walnut now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Westerville North, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Big Walnut will head out to challenge St. Francis DeSales at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westerville North, they will venture away from home to face off against Westerville Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors are facing the Warhawks at the right time seeing as the Warhawks are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
