Basketball Recap: Lane Tech Skates Past Westinghouse with Ease

Lane Tech posted their biggest win since January 26th on Tuesday. They blew past the Westinghouse Warriors 66-28. Given the Champions' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Warriors are ranked 461st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lane Tech can attribute much of their success to Zach Mazanowski, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Dalton Scantlebury was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Lane Tech was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Lane Tech moved to 3-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Westinghouse, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Lane Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-52 win against Phillips on the 12th. As for Westinghouse, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-33 defeat against Curie on the 12th.
