Baseball Recap: Oakmont Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

While Oakmont's win against Roseville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Oakmont Vikings had just enough and edged out the Roseville Tigers 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won four games in a row.

Ayden Dringenberg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Zayne Ball was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Kunis, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Oakmont pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Roseville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Oakmont will be playing at home against Bear River at 4:00 p.m. on March 14th. Bear River's pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Oakmont's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Roseville, they are taking a road trip to face off against Yuba City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Roseville hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.
