Softball Recap: Wake Forest Extends Winning Streak to Eight

It's playoff time, and Wake Forest had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Willow Spring Storm by a score of 6-2 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Jil Livengood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kaylee Bowers was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Teagan Campbell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Wake Forest's record is now 20-1. As for Willow Spring, they moved to 13-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Wake Forest has already played their next match (against D.H. Conley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Willow Spring does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
