Baseball Recap: Chattanooga Christian Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Baylor, Chattanooga Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the CSTHEA Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chargers have posted since March 7th.

Isaac Visser looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Chattanooga Christian's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is undefeated (and 4-5-1 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Chattanooga Christian's victory was truly a team effort as nine different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brooks Wykoff, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits Wykoff has posted since March 6th. John Tinholt also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Chattanooga Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as CSTHEA only posted a batting average of .208.

Chattanooga Christian moved to 9-5-1 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for CSTHEA, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chattanooga Christian will head out to face off against Webb at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for CSTHEA, they will venture away from home to square off against Lookout Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
