Texas high school football: Mitchell Nuziard, Xayvion Noland top list of state receiving yardage leaders

With high school football heating up in the state of Texas, nearly every team has played four games. Eighteen wide receivers have recorded at least 500 receiving yards and the top pass catcher on our state receiving yardage leaderboard has topped 750 yards.

Mitchell Nuziard of Ponder leads the way with 794 receiving yards. The junior wideout jumped into the top spot after catching 12 passes for 322 yards and two touchdowns in a 64-54 loss to Godley last week. Nuziard averages 10 catches per game for 3-1 Ponder.

Xayvion Noland of Canyon (New Braunfels) is second in Texas with 683 receiving yards. The senior wideout went off last week for 274 receiving yards and four touchdowns in a 49-32 win over Boerne-Champion.

Ivan Carreon of Odessa is a tight end to keep an eye on. The 6-foot-6 junior is ranked No. 8 in the state with 579 receiving yards in three games. Carreon also serves as the team’s punter where he averages 43.5 yards per punt.
