Preview: Era Hornets vs. Collinsville Pirates
The Era Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the Collinsville Pirates at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Era is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Era came up short against Muenster and fell 52-44.
Even though Collinsville has not done well against Lindsay recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Collinsville strolled past Lindsay with points to spare, taking the game 64-47. With that win, Collinsville brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.
Carter Scott was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Landon Carpenter was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Era has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Collinsville, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
Era was taken down by Collinsville 86-52 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Era avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
