Hudson Heard was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Heard was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Ezra Gorton was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

Mesa Grande Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Weaver, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
