Soccer Game Preview: Alexander vs. Rome

The Alexander Cougars will head out to square off against the Rome Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alexander has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 14 goals over their last three games.

Alexander had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the six-goal drubbing they dealt South Paulding on Friday. Everything went Alexander's way against South Paulding as Alexander made off with a 6-0 victory. Emory Pitts was a massive factor in the win as she booted in four goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Rome was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Villa Rica.

Alexander is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those six games. Rome's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Everything went Alexander's way against Rome in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, as Alexander made off with a 5-0 win. Will Alexander repeat their success, or does Rome have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
