Red Lion and Central York are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Lions will head out to take on the Panthers at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Red Lion's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Central York's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Red Lion gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over South Western. The game was the first time the Lions have beaten the Mustangs on their field since May 11, 2022.
Steven Bowman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Red Lion is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6-1 otherwise. Bowman was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Braydan Cobb looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jeremiah Morales, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Lawrence, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
Red Lion lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Central York never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against South Western on Monday. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 10-5.
Kam Holtzapple was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Stanton Bair III was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Red Lion's record is now 8-6-1. As for Central York, their record now sits at 7-8.
Red Lion couldn't quite get it done against Central York when the teams last played on April 9th as they fell 4-1. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
