Germantown Friends couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. Their rough 18-5 defeat to the Flint Hill Huskies on Wednesday might stick with them for a while.

For Flint Hill's part, Mackenzie Murdock and Cate Stanley made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Murdock struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Stanley struck out ten batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk).
