Volleyball Recap: Cheney Now 12-1 over Last 13 Games

Cheney won the last time they faced Wellington and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cardinals walked away with a 2-0 win over the Crusaders.

Cheney never let Wellington on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-16.

Cheney got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carter Pipkin out in front who had 17 assists. That's the most assists Pipkin has posted over her last 13 matchups. Karli Inslee also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

When it comes to explaining why Wellington lost, don't look at Blyss Johnson. Despite the final result, she had nine digs.

Cheney has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Wellington, their loss ended a nine-match streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.

Cheney wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Trinity Academy on the 27th. As for Wellington, they will face off against Andale at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
