Baseball Game Preview: Pace Vikings vs. Lopez Lobos

For the second straight game, Pace will face off against Lopez. The Vikings will challenge the Lobos at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Pace gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Lopez with a sharp 14-4 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Vikings have posted against the Lobos since March 29, 2022.

Pace got a massive performance out of Abraham Gutierrez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Gutierrez a new career-high. Nathan Horner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pace kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.9 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.6.

The victory made it two in a row for Pace and bumps their season record up to 6-10. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 8.5 runs. As for Lopez, they dropped their record down to 1-12-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
