Volleyball Game Preview: Rifle Bears vs. Eagle Valley Devils

Rifle hasn't had much luck against Eagle Valley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bears will head out to take on the Devils at 6:30 p.m.

Rifle lost 3-0 to Steamboat Springs on Saturday.

Rifle took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-10, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Eagle Valley had to endure a seven-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Summit on Tuesday.

Eagle Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-8.

Eagle Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Rifle, their loss dropped their record down to 1-17.

Rifle came up short against Eagle Valley in their previous meeting back in September, falling 3-1. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
