Baseball Recap: South Granville Vikings vs. Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs

South Granville entered their tilt with Durham School of the Arts on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-0 back in March.

Cooper Wilkins was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because South Granville is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 4-7 otherwise. Wilkins was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Noah Edwards was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Samuel Fuller, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

The win got South Granville back to even at 7-7. As for Durham School of the Arts, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
