Vandegrift extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 6-2. They walked away with a 44-34 win over the Hutto Hippos. The Vipers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hippos, too.

Vandegrift's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sam Brown, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Those 116 rushing yards gave Brown a new career-high. Brock Chilton also helped out with an impressive 126 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Vandegrift was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 270 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hutto only rushed for 57.

As for Hutto, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-2 record. They gained 75 more yards on the day, but it was Vandegrift that made the best use of them.
Hutto lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jaiden Fields, who picked up 236 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. His receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 118 receiving yards. Keilan Chavies also helped out as he racked up 165 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Hutto is set to challenge their familiar foe Vista Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
