Football Game Preview: South Davidson Wildcats vs. Chatham Central Bears + How To Watch

The South Davidson Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Chatham Central Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Davidson has eight straight victories, Chatham Central has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, everything came up roses for South Davidson against North Stokes as the squad secured a 43-13 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven games by 21 points or more so far this season.

South Davidson can attribute much of their success to Gage Underwood, who rushed for 100 yards and one score on only ten carries, and George Nilsen IV, who rushed for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries. The dominant performance also gave Underwood a new career-high in passing yards (75). Myles Scercy was another key rusher, rushing for 118 yards and one TD on only ten carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: South Davidson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 432 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Chatham Central played against South Stokes on Friday and lost via forfeit.

Chatham Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for South Davidson, their record now sits at 8-0.

South Davidson couldn't quite finish off Chatham Central when the teams last played back in August of 2024 and fell 16-14. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
