Basketball Game Preview: Branford Buccaneers vs. Baker County Wildcats

Two dominant guards in Cloey Criggall and Yamise Haygood are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the Branford Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Baker County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Branford ended up a good deal behind Lafayette and lost 48-33. The Buccaneers haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, Baker County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They took down the Broncos 52-36. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Broncos are ranked 424th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Baker County pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Branford, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
