Basketball Game Preview: Butte Valley Bulldogs vs. Hayfork Timberjacks

The Butte Valley Bulldogs will square off against the Hayfork Timberjacks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Wednesday, Butte Valley humbled Happy Camp with a 51-14 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Hayfork was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Big Valley 43-11. With the Timberjacks ahead 27-4 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Hayfork found their leader in freshman Kaelynn Bayley, who almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Sidney Medellin, who posted six points and 13 rebounds.

Hayfork smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Hayfork is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.9 points over those games. As for Butte Valley, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7.
