Basketball Recap: Wetumpka Triumphs

If Chilton County wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Wetumpka, they should've done a better job of containing Justin Godwin. The Wetumpka Indians really took it to the Chilton County Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up a 79-40 win thanks in part to Godwin, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine assists. Godwin is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season.

Another player making a difference was Miller Lombardi, who went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points and three steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Wetumpka's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Chilton County, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-19.

Wetumpka does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chilton County, they and Jemison will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
