West Rusk lost against Gladewater back in October of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The West Rusk Raiders took a 32-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gladewater Bears.

Judson Dotson threw for 76 yards on five of 14 attempts. Kam Brown was his top target, picking up 61 receiving yards. On the ground, Cole Jackson rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns.

Gladewater's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brayson Woods led the charge by picking up 124 receiving yards, while also punching in a rushing score. Woods also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making three total tackles in addition to snagging two interceptions. Trayvion Watts got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

West Rusk's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Gladewater, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Rusk will head out to face off against Tatum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gladewater, they are on the road again on Friday to play Spring Hill at 7:30 p.m.
