Basketball Recap: Kenny Teter Key Part of a Team Effort in Pirates Win

Cotopaxi won the last time they faced Sangre de Cristo and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cotopaxi Pirates walked away with a 41-34 victory over the Sangre de Cristo Thunderbirds. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Cotopaxi's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kenny Teter, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards. Teter has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. Joel Tezak was another key player, putting up 12 points and eight rebounds.

Cotopaxi's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Sangre de Cristo, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

Cotopaxi will host Creede at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sangre de Cristo, they will head out to take on Moffat at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Moffat will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Sangre de Cristo surely won't give up without a fight.
