Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Humphreys Able Charter's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Stockton Christian came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Humphreys Able Charter, but Khamseng Milavong wouldn't allow it. The Humphreys Able Charter Legacy walked away with a 60-53 win over the Stockton Christian Eagles on Thursday thanks in part to Milavong, who posted 23 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Gonzales Jr., who scored 13 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Defeat or not, Stockton Christian got some senior leadership from McKenzy Escalante and Jayden Chamblee. Escalante put up 14 points, while Chamblee earned 18 points. Chamblee's evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Joshua Jordan Henderson was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Humphreys Able Charter has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Stockton Christian, they dropped their record down to 8-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Humphreys Able Charter will take on Vanguard College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vanguard College Prep will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Humphreys Able Charter surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stockton Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 81-2 win against Don Pedro on the 17th.
