Recap: Randleman Tigers vs. Asheboro Blue Comets

It was a good run, but the Randleman Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. Their tough 63-41 loss to Asheboro might stick with them for a while. Randleman found out winning isn't easy when your three-point shooting is a whole 27% worse than the opposition.

When it comes to explaining why Randleman lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jireh Price. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyshaun Goldston, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.

Asheboro got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jerquarius Stanback out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Stanback's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Camden Walker was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds.

Randleman's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Asheboro, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Randleman and Oak Grove will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Oak Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday. Asheboro and Eastern Randolph will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Eastern Randolph will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Asheboro is ranked 79th).
