Softball Recap: Lake Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Lake's offense. They came up short against the Newton County Cougars on Saturday, falling 15-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Hornets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lake has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. Newton County now has a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Lake will head out on the road to face off against Enterprise at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Enterprise is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season. As for Newton County, they will be playing at home against Clarkdale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarkdale will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Newton County surely won't give up without a fight.
