Volleyball Recap: Vista Ridge Starts Season with Win Against Round Rock

Vista Ridge took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Wednesday. They skirted past the Round Rock Dragons 3-2. The Rangers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dragons, too.

Vista Ridge had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 24-26, 25-19, 25-21, 15-10.

Among those leading the charge was Grayson Schill, who had 17 digs and 12 assists. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 12 or more in each of the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season.

Vista Ridge was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 14 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Vista Ridge and Round Rock will both be playing Glenn the next time they take the court. Vista Ridge will host Glenn at 7:00 p.m. on February 26th, while Round Rock will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on March 3rd.
