Basketball Recap: Midview Comes Up Short

Midview had lost eight straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-13 to make it nine. The contest between the Middies and the Berea-Midpark Titans didn't end well, with the Middies falling 75-56. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 84-56 back in December of 2025.

When it comes to explaining why Midview lost, don't look at Xavier Young. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 29 points and 21 rebounds. With that strong performance, Young is now averaging an impressive 8.5 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Zaire Young, who shot 46% from the field en route to 17 points.

As for Berea-Midpark, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.9 points over those games.

Nick Reece had another great game (as he tends to do), almost dropping a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds. The matchup was his 14th in a row with at least 15 points. Andre' Alexander was another key player, going 5-for-10 on his way to 15 points and three steals.

Coming up, Midview is taking a road trip to square off against North Ridgeville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Berea-Midpark has already played their next contest (against St. Ignatius), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
