Basketball Recap: Guilford Park Comes Up Short

Guilford Park played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Marriotts Ridge, falling 77-56. The Panther were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-23.

Marriotts Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Restia Whitaker led the charge by going 11-for-21 en route to 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. What's more, Whitaker also posted a 52% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Aaron Hammann was another key player, going 9-for-17 to rack up 24 points and five boards.

Guilford Park's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Marriotts Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Guilford Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marriotts Ridge has already played their next matchup (against Glenelg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
