The Colton Yellowjackets will face off against the Jurupa Hills Spartans at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Colton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Colton will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Adelanto on Monday. Colton blew past Adelanto 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.
JASMINE DELAROSA made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, STEPHANIE DELACRUZ was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was JOCELYN ORNELAS, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Colton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Jurupa Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-1 to Saugus.
Jurupa Hills saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylin Olguin, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Colton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. Jurupa Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Jurupa Hills' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Colton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Jurupa Hills, though, as they've been averaging only 2.7 strikeouts. Will Colton keep running through batters, or will Jurupa Hills buck the trend?
Colton might still be hurting after the 14-5 loss they got from Jurupa Hills when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Colton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
