Softball Recap: Ridgefield's Loss Ends 15-Game Winning Streak at Home

Ridgefield lost a heartbreaker to Mark Morris when they met back in April of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Monday. The Spudders took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monarchs. The Spudders were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the five contests prior), but the Monarchs' pitchers proved too tough.

Ridgefield's loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-3. As for Mark Morris, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 16-0.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Ridgefield is set to challenge their familiar foe Woodland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mark Morris will face off against rival Hudson's Bay at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Monarchs' favor as the team sits on 17 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Eagles have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
