Basketball Game Preview: Page Pirates vs. Southeast Guilford Falcons

The Page Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Southeast Guilford Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Page is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Wednesday, Page ended up a good deal behind Northern Guilford and lost 75-60.

Meanwhile, it was a classic East v. West duel when Southeast Guilford challenged Western Guilford on Wednesday. Southeast Guilford snuck past Western Guilford with a 61-55 victory.

Southeast Guilford's win came from a few key players Page will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Justin Geter, who went 5-for-7 on his way to 15 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in field goal percentage (71%). Byron Arant was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

Southeast Guilford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Page's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Southeast Guilford, their win bumped their record up to 8-14.

Page didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Southeast Guilford in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 62-58 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Page since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
