Softball Game Preview: Providence Catholic Celtics vs. St. Laurence Vikings

The Providence Catholic Celtics will venture away from home to challenge the St. Laurence Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Providence Catholic is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Beecher just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats.

Meanwhile, St. Laurence entered their game against Fenwick on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Vikings fell just short of the Friars by a score of 9-8.

Providence Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for St. Laurence, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.

Providence Catholic skirted past St. Laurence 4-3 when the teams last played last Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Celtics since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
