Basketball Recap: Summit Academy Takes a Loss

Summit Academy extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 66-62 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Jordan Jaguars. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (57), the Bears still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Summit Academy lost, don't look at Kai Fehrenbach. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-14 en route to 17 points and six rebounds. Beau Edmunds was another key player, putting up eight points and eight boards.

West Jordan's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ian McIntyre had an outrageously good game as he shot 54% from the field on his way to 23 points and five steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Litchfield, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 16 points.

Summit Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 83-48 victory against Taylorsville on the 5th. As for West Jordan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-46 loss against Cedar Valley on the 5th.
