Artesia came tearing into Friday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Goddard Rockets. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-2 victory on Friday.

Artesia's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Goddard, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-14.
