The Seven Lakes Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Cinco Ranch 40-36. While losing is never fun, Seven Lakes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 697th, while Cinco Ranch is ranked 347th).

Cinco Ranch was led to victory by Taytum Johnson and Davis Roup. Johnson picked up 114 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Roup threw for 384 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt.

Seven Lakes has yet to win a game at home this season, leaving them with a 2-8 record. As for Cinco Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
