Baseball Recap: Nine Straight Home Victories for Gulf Shores

While Gulf Shores's win against Elberta wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Gulf Shores Dolphins won by a run and slipped past the Elberta Warriors 4-3. The Dolphins haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

John Will Nix looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gulf Shores saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob O'Bryan, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Tres Moore also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Gulf Shores pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Elberta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gulf Shores will take on Mobile Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Mobile Christian has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Elberta, they will host Bryant at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
