Preview: Wellsville-Middletown Tigers vs. Bowling Green Bobcats

Wellsville-Middletown is 1-6 against Bowling Green since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wellsville-Middletown Tigers will look to defend their home court against the Bowling Green Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. Bowling Green took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Wellsville-Middletown, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Wellsville-Middletown was able to grind out a solid win over Van-Far, taking the game 40-30. The victory was just what Wellsville-Middletown needed coming off of a 82-26 defeat in their prior contest.

Meanwhile, Bowling Green's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their ninth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 51-37 to Elsberry. While losing is never fun, Bowling Green can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while Elsberry is ranked 166th).

Wellsville-Middletown's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Bowling Green, they dropped their record down to 3-16 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Wellsville-Middletown might still be hurting after the 49-27 defeat they got from Bowling Green in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. Thankfully for Wellsville-Middletown, Kinley Charlton (who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
