Basketball Recap: Curlew Sets Scoring Season-High Against Columbia

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Curlew). They blew past the Columbia Lions 76-55 on Saturday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-15.

Leading Curlew to victory were Logan Ringstad and Sylas Stotts. Ringstad dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Stotts went 9 for 14 en route to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Stotts a new career-high. Steven White was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards.

Curlew was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Curlew's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Columbia, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.

Curlew will venture away from home to square off against Selkirk at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Curlew is facing Selkirk at the right time seeing as Selkirk is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Columbia, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Northport at 6:30 p.m. Northport knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 games -- so hopefully Columbia likes a good challenge.
