Softball Game Preview: Gardner Wildcats vs. Tahanto Regional Stags

Gardner hasn't had much luck against Tahanto Regional recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Stags at 4:00 p.m. Tahanto Regional took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Gardner, who comes in off a win.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Gardner and Quabbin Regional meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 11-6.

Meanwhile, Tahanto Regional didn't have quite enough to beat Maynard on Wednesday and fell 7-6.

Gardner's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Tahanto Regional, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Gardner suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Tahanto Regional in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
