Baseball Recap: Clarke Prep Takes a Loss

Clarke Prep extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-5. They came up short against the Southern Academy Cougars, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, with their most recent defeat being a 4-0 loss on Friday.

As for Southern Academy, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games.

For Southern Academy's part, Mason Eisenhower was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Eisenhower a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Thorn, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarke Prep will venture away from home to face off against Snook Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Southern Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ezekiel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
