Basketball Recap: Cathedral Catholic Dons vs. Mt. Carmel Sundevils
Cathedral Catholic took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They took their match with ease, bagging a 98-53 victory over the Mt. Carmel Sundevils. With the Dons ahead 56-21 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Cathedral Catholic was led to victory by PJ Jourdain and Patrick O'Brien. Jourdain went 13 of 16 on his way to 31 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while O'Brien dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists. That's the most assists O'Brien has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Evans-Glynn, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points and four steals.
Several Sundevils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Humphrey, who posted 17 points and seven boards. Humphrey has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Matthew Muttoni was another key player, putting up eight points.
This is the second loss in a row for Mt. Carmel and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Cathedral Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 85-68 win against Patrick Henry on the 4th. As for Mt. Carmel, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-38 defeat against Bishop's on the 5th.
