Basketball Game Preview: Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle vs. Deseret Peak Golden Eagles

The Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle will square off against the Deseret Peak Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Juan Diego Catholic ended up a good deal behind Mountain View and lost 49-33. The Soaring Eagle have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Deseret Peak can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They strolled past Orem with points to spare, taking the game 43-27.

Juan Diego Catholic better focus on containing Taylor Fawson and Kina Malu as the pair were huge in Deseret Peak's win. Fawson posted 18 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals, while Malu earned five points and 18 boards. With that strong performance, Malu is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie DeGraw, who scored six points and nine boards.

Deseret Peak smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Deseret Peak's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Juan Diego Catholic, they now also have a losing record of 2-3.
