Basketball Game Preview: Burncoat Patriots vs. Pope Francis Prep Cardinals

The Burncoat Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Pope Francis Prep Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burncoat knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 games -- so hopefully Pope Francis Prep likes a good challenge.

Burncoat is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Dartmouth by a score of 80-69.

Burncoat's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jean Carlos Pimental, who posted 27 points. The dominant performance gave Pimental a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cheyton Marshall, who had 16 points.

Meanwhile, Pope Francis Prep humbled Shepherd Hill Regional with a 72-45 victory. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Burncoat pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.9 points over those games. As for Pope Francis Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-3.
