Softball Recap: Sheldon Snaps 13-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Sheldon suffered their biggest defeat since March 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Grants Pass Cavemen, falling 11-1. The Irish were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavemen apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Sheldon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Presley Debaldo, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Debaldo brought in this season.

Sheldon's defeat ended a 13-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2. As for Grants Pass, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sheldon will challenge Willamette at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Irish's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Grants Pass, they will take on South Eugene at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cavemen will need to watch out since the Axe have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
