Softball Game Preview: Crete-Monee Warriors vs. Thornridge Falcons

For the second straight game, Crete-Monee will face off against Thornridge. The Warriors will square off against the Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Crete-Monee has three straight wins, Thornridge has 35 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Crete-Monee made easy work of Thornridge and carried off a 23-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Taleeana Ramirez, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-3. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Raechel Lindsay, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Crete-Monee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Crete-Monee's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Thornridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-16.
