Baseball Game Preview: Dickinson Rams vs. University Academy Charter Generals

For the second straight game, Dickinson will face off against University Academy Charter. The Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Generals at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Dickinson is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 27-8 margin over University Academy Charter on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Rams needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Ziggy Puchowski made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Dickinson is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-10 otherwise. Puchowski was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Dickinson got a massive performance out of Reily Diaz-Lopez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Diaz-Lopez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dominick Fernandez, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Dickinson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .780. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

University Academy Charter's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Dickinson, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-11 record.
